How disciplined is your life in relation to your vision or dream? When you see your destination, it helps you to discipline your life in ways that train, prepare and provide for your vision. Vision, therefore, is the key to an effective life.
Design Your Life and Make it Count!
You were born to do something for mankind, something that no one else can do, and you must serve it to the world. This is your gift. Your gift is the key to fulfilling your vision. If you have gotten off track in life, no matter how old or even young you are, it’s never too late to design your life and make it count.
Where God wants to take you is so perfect; He doesn’t want you to miss it and end up anywhere else. You can refocus your vision and make a quality decision that will lead you to fulfilling your dream. It’s doable and essential to design your life and make it count, but you have to make intelligible and intentional choices. Let’s examine seven wrong choices that can quickly kill your vision:
Choice #1. How are you investing your energies? If you are putting your heart and soul in something that’s a distraction, ask yourself, “Is it worth it?” Vision is serious business.
Choice #2. Where are you investing your money? Your vision directs your resources. Are you so much in debt that you can’t channel your money toward fulfilling the vision in your heart? Or, are you spending unwisely and neglecting to invest in your vision?
Choice #3. What movies and TV programs are you investing your time to watch? Are you aware that choosing to watch things that are related to your vision is investing time in your future?
Choice #4. What books are you investing your time to read? Are you reading books that will help you or hinder you? Immersing yourself in fictional novels places you in a fantasy world instead of a path to your true life design. Read to grow your skills and fulfill your vision.
Choice #5. What are you ingesting into your body? Are you aware that some food and beverage choices can cause premature death? I don’t want to frighten you. But now that I have your attention, people do die prematurely because of consistently eating foods that aren’t good for them. If you want to make it to the end of your vision, eat and drink the right things. Take good care of your health. Your vision is for an appointed time. You want to be around to see its fulfillment.
Choice #6. How are you investing your time today that can potentially affect your future? Let’s talk about sex. If you are single, your vision can easily be hindered if you’re promiscuous. Having a baby out of wedlock or contracting a sexual disease will definitely hold you back. Don’t allow anyone to sway you to compromise your future. Protect your vision.
Choice #7. How do you invest your thoughts? What is your attitude towards life? If you stumble, can you brush yourself off and resume? Can you see a bump in the road as a temporary thing and continue to think intentionally and purposefully on your vision? Can you do what Philippians 4:8 tells you to do… think on things that are true, pure, honest, right, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy? Your vision is all of these traits.
